WIN LOSE OR DRAW

This is a program/game based on the old tv show.  You need a blackboard or something you can draw pictures on.  Members are divided into teams.  One person comes up and is given the name of a food or diet phrase and they have to draw it so that his team can guess what it is.

EASTER EGG SURPRISE

Insert a question about nutrition, written on a slip of paper, into a small plastic easter egg that you can open.  Along with it, put in a small token gift.  At the meeting, each member picks an egg and opens it.  if she can answer the question correctly, she receives the gift.  If she can;'t, she passes the egg on to the person beside her and they get a chance to win.

FOURTH OF JULY

Take red, white and blue plastic cups and make a cover over them so that they look like a firecracker.  Inside, put in a question about nutrition or health (we used questions in the Medical spot) Again if a member can answer the question, she gets a small prize.

NO MORE EATSA  LITTLE PIZZA (or other goodies!)

Divide the chapter up into small groups.  Give each group a piece of paper with about 15 fast food items printed on them.  Then give them aa list of numbers (the calories count for these foods) and have them try to match the calories to the right food.  The group that gets the most right, wins a small prize.

FRUIT AND VEGGIE DRAWING

Ask your members to write down the names of their favorite fruit and vegetables on slips of paper.  Put these in a jar.  Each week, you draw a name of a fruit and vegetable and then you look up the information about it on the web.  We give members a fact sheet along with a few recipes about this.

THE NAME GAME

Every member writes their FIRST NAME ONLY on a piece of paper.  Ask them to come up with words about TOPS for every letter in their name.  Go around the room and ask everyone what they put down.  If every word is tops related they should win a small prize.  If it is not, ask them to try again

 HALLOWEEN BINGO

This takes a little time and a computer.  We looked up the calorie count of a lot of different sweets that the kids get on Halloween.  Then we designed Bingo cards with the calorie count on them.  For the program, we would play this just like Bingo-we would read out the number, say what sweet it was and members would mark off their square.

TURKEY PROGRAM

Purchase a small gift and wrap it up  Find a small article on turkey and bring it to the chapter.  Have the members get in a circle.  Give the gift to the week's best loser, then start reading the article.  Every time the word turkey is mentioned, the person holding the gift must pass the gift to the right.  Member holding the gift at the end of the article wins it.
