VALENTINE CONTEST

This is a very simple contest.   The object of it is to get as many valentines as possible. (we used little red heart stickers) We took a piece of poster paper and put our members names on it.   If they came and stayed through the meeting, they received one heart and if they had a loss, they received another heart.  If they collected at least 10 hearts, they received a dollar.  The member with the most hearts received a prize.

SHAMROCK CONTEST

We took 50 sticker shamrocks and put them on a piece of poster paper and numbered them 1 to 50. We didn't tell anyone what we were going to do. Each week a member could sign a shamrock if they lost.  At the end of the contest, members receive a monetary amount equal to the number of the shamrock they earned.  Example, if they won shamrock #50, they would receive 50 cents.

THANKSGIVING CONTEST

Members divide into 2 teams.  Each team has a poster of a turkey with 6 feathers on it.  Each week the members may earn points for their turkey by doing various things.  They report to a team captain who totals the points up and puts it on one of the feathers.  At the end of 6 weeks, the team with the most points wins.

EASTER CONTEST

We took poster paper and drew easter baskets for each one of our members.  Every week, they could earn eggs to put in their baskets-one for coming to meeting, one for having a weight loss, and one for keeping a food sheet.  At end of six weeks, member with most eggs in her basket wins a prize

We also had a contest where each member's name went on a bunny.  Each week they could earn eggs for their bunny: one for coming to the meeting, one for weighing in, and one for bringing an article to share.  At the end of the contest, they got an extra egg for having perfect attendance and one for having a net weight loss during the contest.

TOPS SALUTES THE USA

This runs for 12 weeks.  Members try to earn as many states as they can. We used pictures of the us and colored in the states as they earned them.  Each week, you could earn 4 states: one for coming and staying through meeting, one for leading chapter in a song, one for bringing in a food sheet, and one for losiing weight (if you are a tops-KOPS earned a state by either losing or being at or under goal).  To even out the states, we gave all members one state to start off with, and if they had perfect attendance during the contest, they could earn the 50th state.

THE FLAG CONTEST

To begin with, each person gets a felt flag with a star on it.  Each week, they could add a star to it by losing weight, and one for coming to meeting.  One who earned 50 stars first won.

Yankee Doodle Dieter

Member's names went up on a piece of poster paper decorated with 4th of July art.  Each week, TOPS could earn two stars to put by their name: one for coming and weighing in and another for coming in with a loss.  KOPS could earn two stars, one for coming and weighing in and one for being at or under goal.  Everyone who earned at least 15 stars but under 20 received a dollar.  Everyone earning over 20 received $2 and the person with the most stars won a month's free dues.

 GREAT PUMPKIN CONTEST

Everyone received a pumpkin that was divided into 24 sections.  Each week, they could color in one section each by coming and staying through meeting, writing a different tops pal each week, keeping a food sheet, or coming in with weight loss.  First one to color all their pumpkin won a charm.

EASY CHRISTMAS CONTEST

We made a tree out of green poster paper and attached it to a large piece of white paper.  Then we added stickers that looked like ornaments and numbered each one.  Behind each ornament was a little prize.  Each week if a member came in with a loss, they got to sign an ornament.  At the end of the contest, members were awarded the prizes that were behind the ornaments they had signed.

GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS

Everyone was given their own christmas tree.  This was a picture of a tree on white paper.  Each week they could earn little stars to stick on it: one for coming to the meeting, one for having a weight loss, and another one for bringing in a calorie sheet. At the end of the contest, one with most ornaments on tree won.

JINGLE BELL CONTEST

For this you need pipe cleaners and little jingle bells.  TOPS earn 1 jingle bell if they have a weight loss of a pound or under-2 jingle bells if they have more than that.  KOPS earn 2 bells for being at or under goal in leeway and 1 bell for being above goal but still in leeway.  Members made little bracelets with them.

TWINKLE YOUR TREE WITH WEIGHT LOSS

Everyone gets a little holiday tree.  Each week they may earn stars for coming in with a weight loss, staying for the meeting, and bringing in a menu sheet.  At the end of the contest, member with the most stars wins
